Warranty Exclusions

Acts of God & Unusual Weather – hail, high winds, ice heave, flooding, drought, or temperatures outside USDA Zone 5 extremes.

Improper or Neglected Maintenance – lack of watering, over‑watering, failure to winterize irrigation, or use of de‑icing salts that damage hardscape joints.

Soil & Site Conditions Beyond Our Control – unstable sub‑grades, expansive clay, or undisclosed buried debris causing settlement.

Pest, Disease, or Wildlife Damage – insects, voles, rabbits, elk, pathogens.

Mechanical or Chemical Injury – lawn‑mower, snowplow, weed‑trimmer hits; herbicide/pesticide misapplication.

Third‑Party Modifications – repairs or alterations performed by anyone other than HIVE.

Excluded Structures & Surfaces – wood decks, fences, pergolas, or outdoor kitchens are covered only if explicitly included in your contract; otherwise, no warranty.
- Pets -Damage to sod or other plants caused by per urine are not covered under our warranty.
Cement Exclusions

Hairline cracks – Minor cracking (under 1/8") is considered normal and does not affect performance.

Cracking due to ground movement – Including expansive clay soils, frost heave, erosion, or tree root growth.

Damage from salt or de-icing chemicals – These can accelerate surface breakdown and void finish warranties.

Heavy equipment loading – Driving or parking on walkways/driveways before cure time or beyond load spec.

Lack of sealing or maintenance – Decorative concrete typically requires sealing every 1–2 years.

Pet urine, fire pits, grills, or chemical spills – Especially on decorative finishes or dyed surfaces.

Color variation – Mottling or unevenness is a known property of natural curing and weather exposure.

Warranty Exclusions (Apply to All Tiers)

Surfaces we did not paint or areas where the customer supplied the coatings.

Unpainted or galvanized metal (gutters, downspouts, flashing) prone to rust bleed‑through.

Horizontal or moisture‑collecting surfaces not listed in your contract (roofs, flat porch ceilings, wood gutters).

Damage caused by:

Existing wood rot, structural movement, or roof/siding leaks

Mold, mill‑glaze, or tannin bleed from cedar knots

Acts of God (hail larger than ½ inch, wind‑blown debris, fire, flood)

Improper homeowner maintenance (e.g., power‑washing above 2,500 psi, harsh chemicals)
